DTN COMMENTS: Scattered bids are now being reported in most areas following
a light to moderate trade in the South, and moderate to active business in
the North yesterday. Deals in Kansas and Texas were around $114 to $115, $1
to $2 lower than the prior week's weighted averages. Dressed business in
Nebraska and Iowa had a full range of $181 to $186 (the low end of the range
was for delayed delivery), mostly $184 to $185, generally steady to $1 lower
than last week's weighted average. Asking prices for cattle left on
showlists are around $118 plus on a live basis, and $187 dressed. Beef
cutouts are expected to be mixed with light to moderate box movement.
